PROCUREMENT:
The project consists of replacing the existing 25-year-old lighting system with a more energy efficient and sustainable lighting system at the Orange County Courthouse buildings. The base bid encompasses lighting upgrades in the basement and levels 1 through 25 of Building C tower at the Courthouse complex. Additive No. 1 includes the lighting plan for the basement plus levels 1 through 5 of Building A and Additive No. 2 includes the lighting plan for the basement plus levels 1 through 5 of Building B. This project will increase efficiency and performance and will reduce energy costs.
FUNDING:
Funding is available in account number 1023-043-2088-3810.
APPROVALS:
The Capital Projects Division and Business Development Division concur with this recommendation.
REMARKS:
Three bids were received in response to this Invitation for Bids and were evaluated for responsiveness, responsibility and price reasonableness. The bids submitted by CIC Construction Group USA, LLC. and Miller Electric Company were deemed non-responsive by the Procurement Division, based on the analysis provided by the Business Development Division, which identified the M/WBE participation goal was not achieved, and sufficient good faith effort documentation was not provided.
