ACTION REQUESTED:
title
Approval of Amendment No. 3, Contract Y26-2204, Mobile Shelter Project, with Matthew’s Hope Ministries, Inc., in the amount of $80,000, for a revised estimated contract amount of $951,412.96. ([Community and Family Services Department Mental Health and Homelessness Division] Procurement Division)
body
PROCUREMENT:
This amendment increases the FY2027 budget to support the budgetary needs for dedicated space (rent) to park, connect, and store the mobile shelter bus both day and night. The location of said space is within walking distance of the Matthew’s Hope’s Drop in Center in Winter Garden. This creates a more efficient connection to day services and the long term goal of permanent housing. Additional dollars will support adding laundry equipment to the dedicated space reserved for daily laundering of all linens used nightly on the mobile bus and the connection equipment to run the mobile bus overnight on electricity rather than generators.
This increase is necessary to secure dedicated space close to the current day center in Winter Garden and provide the agency with means to keep the mobile bus hygienic and safe from any possible communicable diseases. The location of secured space additionally offsets the unforeseen rise in diesel by allowing the bus to remain at one location 24/7. The agency will deploy an agency shuttle to pick up and drop off bus clients throughout West Orange County.
