Approval and execution of (1) Off System Construction and Maintenance Agreement between State of Florida, Department of Transportation (“Department”) and Orange County, Florida (“Local Government”) and (2) Resolution 2024-M-58 of the Orange County Board of County Commissioners regarding the Off System Construction and Maintenance Agreement with the State of Florida Department of Transportation concerning improvements to US 441 and State Road 500 (from Wadsworth Road to Lake County Line) Project. PURPOSE:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) wishes to construct an Off System improvement along State Road 441/SR 500 from SR 500A (Wadsworth Road) to Lake County Line. The Off System Construction and Maintenance Agreement allows the FDOT to reconstruct and resurface County roadways as part of the FDOT project.
The project consists of the following improvements:
At the intersection of US 441/SR 500 and County Road 500A - resurface and realign all the turn lane movements at the US 441/County Road 500 intersection.
Along County Road 500A - reconstruct and resurface County Road 500A with the addition of new shoulder pavement, addition of new curb and gutter, driveway reconstruction, and the placement of drainage pipe and inlets.
At the intersection of US 441/SR 500 and Stoneybrook Hills Parkway - milling and resurfacing of the intersection to accommodate pedestrian improvements that include new crosswalks, pedestrian signals, and enhanced lighting. This Off System Construction and Maintenance Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation was reviewed and approved by the County Attorney’s Office and the Risk Management Division as to form.
