REMARKS: The new License Agreement with S.A.L.T. Outreach Inc. (SALT) allows for the use of Orange County Emergency Shelters during activated emergencies to offer case management and housing services for individuals accessing the shelters.
SALT runs a mobile day service center for the unsheltered that offers showers, laundry, clothing, and hygiene products through the use of trailers, storage services through a box truck, charging stations, food bags, mail services, haircuts, and case management services.
This agreement authorizes SALT to deliver services at the Emergency Shelters upon Orange County's request during emergencies. The Manager of the Mental Health and Homelessness Division will oversee the coordination, management, and supervision for public use. Case managers will evaluate needs, provide service referrals, and assist with housing placements for those leaving the shelters. Shelter locations are to be determined.
