REMARKS:

One bid was received in response to this Invitation for Bids (IFB) and evaluated for responsiveness, responsibility, and price reasonableness.  As Ranger Fire, Inc. was the sole bidder, negotiations were held, resulting in a reduction to the bid in the amount of $407,780. The bid is considered reasonable based on negotiations and current market factors.

To ensure an open and competitive process, the IFB was posted on the County’s e-procurement platform. A query of known potential bidders that declined to participate in this bid opportunity resulted in the following findings:

Valencia Construction Group, Inc.: Did not bid due to not being comfortable with the scope of work.

Schuller Contractors Incorporated: Did not bid due to not providing the services requested.

Birchwood, Ratcliff & Associates LLC: Did not bid due to scheduling conflicts within their team. They’re located in Ft. Lauderdale and travelling to Orlando for the time it takes to perform this job would have left their current clients at a loss.

Critical Power Solutions Group Inc.: Did not respond to the inquiry.

Johnson Controls Fire Protection LP: Did not respond to the inquiry.

Sciens Building Solutions, LLC: Did not respond to the inquiry.

SGM Engineering, Inc.: Did not respond to the inquiry.

References provided were satisfactory for this type of work and Ranger Fire, Inc. has been determined to be responsible. The bid for Ranger Fire, Inc. is considered fair and equitable based on the current market value associated with the engineer's estimate. Therefore, award is recommended to Ranger Fire, Inc.

The bid tabulation is as follows:
