PROJECT: 1) Maintenance contract between Orange Blossom Trail Development Board, Inc. and Your Community Tree Service, LLC for Orange Blossom Trail between Colonial Drive and Interstate 4; and 2) Request from City of Orlando for Roadway Restoration of West Central Boulevard from Rio Grande Avenue to Westmoreland Drive.
PURPOSE: The Orange County Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), comprised of the members of the Board of County Commissioners of Orange County, Florida (County), formed in 1990 for the public purpose of revitalizing slum or blighted areas within the City of Orlando and unincorporated Orange County along South Orange Blossom Trail and bound by West Colonial Drive, Westmoreland Drive, Interstate 4, and Rio Grande Avenue (Redevelopment Area). The CRA retained the services of the Orange Blossom Trail Development Board, Inc. (OBTDB) to perform redevelopment activities within the Redevelopment Area through an Agreement originally approved by the County in 1991. The Agreement was most recently amended, restated and approved by the County on September 13, 2022. Section 5 of the Agreement requires the OBTDB to seek approval from the CRA prior to entering into contracts exceeding $100,000. The OBTDB seeks CRA approval for two projects. The maintenance contract will provide landscape maintenance, trash pick-up, bus stop and shelter cleaning, and maintenance, tree pruning, and irrigation services for Orange Blossom Trail between Colonial Drive and I-4 ($349,919). The roadway restoration project will mill and resurface, stripe, and replace concrete curbs and sidewalks along Central Boulevard from Rio Grande Avenue to Westmoreland Drive ($355,000). The projects are included in the CRA’s adopted FY2026 budget.
