PROCUREMENT:

Work under this contract shall consist of milling and paving of numerous county Park and Recreation facilities, inclusive of providing all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals including mobilization and maintenance of traffic, necessary to resurface roadways as specified, including top course. This includes trails (most 12’ to 14’ wide) and other Orange County maintained parking lots and roads generally located within park or trailhead facilities. Work shall be issued on an as-needed basis throughout Orange County.

FUNDING:

Funding is available in account number 1050-062-2116-3810.

APPROVALS:

The Parks and Recreation Division concurs with this recommendation.

REMARKS:

Two bids were received in response to this Invitation for Bids and evaluated for responsiveness, responsibility, and price reasonableness. Price reasonableness was established by comparison to the engineer's estimate and consideration of market factors. 

Superior Asphalt, Inc. has a satisfactory record of performance for this type of work and have been determined to be responsible. Therefore, award is recommended to Superior Asphalt, Inc.
