PROCUREMENT:

This amendment will provide additional funding to support the continuation of overnight respite services, aftercare, and other peer-led services. Overnight respite provides individuals in need the opportunity to unplug from stressors and avert a crisis that otherwise would result in inpatient hospitalization. The amendment also will replace Attachment 3, Subaward Budget Version 2.0 with Version 3.0.

FUNDING:

Funding is available in account number 5896-019-8611-8610. This subaward utilizes funds from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund.

APPROVALS:

The Mental Health and Homelessness Division concurs with this recommendation.

REMARKS:

This increase in ARPA funding will continue to provide access to the overnight respite services for approximately 20 individuals monthly and approximately 60 additional individuals will benefit from peer support training and technical assistance monthly. These services are available to any Orange County resident who needs behavioral health services. Individuals in need of overnight respite services or other supportive services can engage with Peer Support Space at 407-968-1288, email respite@peersupportspace.org, or fill out an interest form at tinyurl.com/respitestay.

On October 10, 2023, the Board authorized the award of Contract Y22-2414 with Peer Support Space, Inc., in the estimated contract amount of $427,451.63 for a one-year term.

Previous amendments are as follows:

Amendment No. 1: Extended the performance period to September 30, 2026, and added ARPA funding in the amount of $418,000, for a revised not-to-exceed contract amount of $845,451.63. This amendment was approved by the Board on July 9, 2024.

Amendment No. 2: Replaced Attachment 3, Subaward Budget Version 1.0, with Version 2.0. No change to the contract not-to-exceed amount.
