body

PROCUREMENT:

This purchase order will provide owner’s representative services related to the replacement and upgrade of the electronic security system that controls and monitors the Corrections campus. The existing Corrections campus security system incorporates electronic security control and monitoring systems with design and installation elements dating back to the mid-1970’s. These older systems are at a critical stage of maintainability and a phased approach of replacement is ongoing to address this security concern in support of Corrections’ operational mission. The project is located in District 6.

FUNDING:

Funding is available in account number 1023-081-4031-6210.

APPROVALS:

The Capital Projects Division concurs with this recommendation.

REMARKS:

Fitzgerald Technology Group, LLC has a deep understanding of the Corrections campus’ physical security measures and operational procedures because they have been involved in numerous security related projects at the campus since 2015 based on their complete assessment of the entire security control and monitoring system and the development of the Electronic Touchscreen Security Management & Control System Functional Requirements.  These projects include the replacement of all cell and security vestibule doors and the related security systems, monitors, cameras, intercoms, and controls. Additionally, they have helped troubleshoot many security system issues working with Corrections and ISS and have previously completed successful owner’s representative services on Purchase Order M111915. This knowledge makes Fitzgerald Technology Group, LLC uniquely qualified to serve as owner’s representative for the Corrections campus upgrade of security controls and monitoring systems and cell and security vestibule door replacement projects.

Price reasonableness was established through comparison to previous purchases by the County.  Prices are consistent with the previously executed Purchase Order M111915.
