The Clerk of the Board is responsible for keeping accurate minutes and maintaining Board records for each Board of County Commissioner (BCC) and Value Adjustment Board (VAB) meeting. In addition, every 4 years, the Clerk of the Board office provides staff support to the Charter Review Commission (CRC) appointed by the BCC. Please contact our office if you need an accessible version of documents on this page, and one will be provided.

PROJECT:
Corrections Genesis Sanitary Pipe Replacement

 

PURPOSE: To provide funding for additional construction services to complete the capital improvements.

 

BUDGET: Accounting Line Number: 1023-043-2093-3810

 

JUSTIFICATION/DISCUSSION:

The original scope of work for the project provided for a complete replacement of all the interior sewer piping and simple direct tie-ins to the existing sanitary system from new locations within the building.  Unforeseen existing hidden conditions prevented these sewer tie-ins from being installed per the construction plans.  Because the new sewer pipe work in the buildings was rerouted to new locations, it made it impossible to simply reconnect the new pipes to the existing piping leaving the building.  There were numerous unforeseen underground obstructions in the area requiring two new separate sewer tie-ins on opposite sides of the building.  Because of the existing grades in the area and the fall required for the new sewer piping, both new sewer tie-ins required new underground lift stations to be able to connect the new sewer lines to the existing exterior sewer system.  This new work was permitted and coordinated with the Orange County Utilities Department.
