The Clerk of the Board is responsible for keeping accurate minutes and maintaining Board records for each Board of County Commissioner (BCC) and Value Adjustment Board (VAB) meeting. In addition, every 4 years, the Clerk of the Board office provides staff support to the Charter Review Commission (CRC) appointed by the BCC. PURPOSE: The Transportation Mobility Advisory Commission (TransMAC) was created by the passage of an amendment to the Orange County Charter on November 5, 2024. TransMac is empowered to hold public hearings and make recommendations to the County Commission on: (1) proposed expenditures for transportation purposes prior to inclusion in the proposed County annual budget; (2) transportation and mobility innovation; and (3) review of past transportation expenditures.
TransMAC is composed of seven members. The amendment stipulates that “TransMAC members shall be county residents who are not elected officials. In appointing TransMAC members, the Board shall endeavor to include among the membership at least one member that is (i) an engineer; (ii) an accountant, banker, or financial analyst; (iii) an individual active in manufacturing or construction; (iv) an environmental advocate; (v) a civic community leader; (vi) a member of a local watchdog group; and (vii) a frequent user of transit.” Terms are for two years with a limit of eight terms.
Board confirmation of the following appointments is requested:
1) Confirmation of the appointment of Mohammed Abdallah in the engineer representative category as requested by Commissioner Uribe.
2) Confirmation of the appointment of Eric Grimmer in the member of a local watchdog group representative category as requested by Commissioner Gomez Cordero.
3) Confirmation of the appointment of Jose M. Hoyos in the civic community leader representative category as requested by Commissioner Martinez Semrad.
4) Confirmation of the appointment of Zachary Moldof in the at large representative category as requested by Commissioner Scott.
