Approval to award Invitation for Bids Y26-707-MB, Wekiwa Springs Septic Tank Retrofit Project Phase 5A - Carol Woods Way & Wekiva Ridge Road, to the low responsive and responsible bidder, R.P. Utility and Excavation Corp, in the estimated contract award amount of $5,607,809.
In the event the bidder recommended above fails to achieve timely compliance with pre-award deliverables, as defined in the Invitation for Bids, including, but not limited to, State Division of Corporations registration, E-Verify, insurance and bonds, further request authorization for the Procurement Division to award to the next low responsive and responsible bidder as listed in the bid tabulation herein, to the extent practicable and advantageous to the County. PROCUREMENT:
The primary objective of this contract includes installation of gravity sewer mains, manholes, and service laterals, force-mains, and public pump stations. The corresponding septic systems will be abandoned. The project is located in District 2.
FUNDING:
Funding is available in account numbers 4420-038-1505-0015-6340 (Gravity Main), 4420-038-1559-0177-6340 (Pump Station), 4420-038-1539-0079-6340 (Force Main).
APPROVALS:
The Utilities Engineering Division concurs with this recommendation
REMARKS:
Five bids were received in response to this Invitation for Bids and evaluated for responsiveness, responsibility, and price reasonableness. Price reasonableness was established by comparison to the engineer's estimate and consideration of market factors.
R.P. Utility and Excavation Corp has a satisfactory record of performance for this type of work and has been determined to be responsible. Therefore, award is recommended to R.P. Utility and Excavation Corp.
