The Clerk of the Board is responsible for keeping accurate minutes and maintaining Board records for each Board of County Commissioner (BCC) and Value Adjustment Board (VAB) meeting. In addition, every 4 years, the Clerk of the Board office provides staff support to the Charter Review Commission (CRC) appointed by the BCC. Please contact our office if you need an accessible version of documents on this page, and one will be provided.

PURPOSE:

Contributions:

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. - $2,500.
This contribution provides scholarships to deserving youth in our community and supports the Sigma Beta Club mentoring program and other youth development programs.  Additionally, the Board of Directors has expanded the singular focus of the youth affiliate to include the recognition of high school graduates with scholarships that support their college education. The “Getting in Good Trouble Awards” and Stanley T. Muller Scholarship Luncheon will be held on June 27, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Orlando to commemorate the legacy of the Honorable John Robert Lewis.

Florida FBI National Academy Associates, Inc. (FBINAA) - $5,000. This contribution will provide funding in support of the 2025 FBINAA Re-Trainer Conference scheduled for June 28 through July 1, 2025, in Naples, Florida. FBINAA, along with host agency Collier County Sheriff’s Office, will be hosting the re-trainer conference. The funds received from the donation will directly support the conference with an emphasis on the training component and will be used to help with the costs of conference materials and training expenses.

MADD Central Florida Chapter - $5,000. This contribution provides funding to help the Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Central Florida Chapter educate residents living in the area about the consequences of driving drunk, educate youth on the dangers and consequences of underage drinking, and offers comfort and support to drunk driving victims.  They also provide death notification sensitivity training to law enforcement officers, coroners, and funeral home directors on how to deliver the news of drunk driving fatalities to family members. The 2025 Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash Clermont 5K will be held on April 12, 2025, at Waterfront Park in Clermont, Florida.

MADD Central Florida Chapter - $3,000. The 4th Annual Central Florida GALA fundraising event is scheduled for March 29, 2025.

Peace and Justice Institute - $50,000. This contribution is for financial support for the third year of a three-year funding partnership and will be utilized towards making a difference by intentionally engaging in principles and practices that explore, advocate, and honor the dignity of self, others, and the earth.  The 7th Annual Conference “Creating a Resilient Community Together” is scheduled for April 3 and 4, 2025.
