PROCUREMENT:
This purchase order is for the site adaptation phase services and construction administration for Orange County Fire Station Prototype Design - Three Bay Station Site Adaptation Scope/Fee for Fire Station Site 78 - Caneel Bay Blvd. This project is based upon the prototype three-bay fire station design. The fee has been formatted to follow the tasks per Orange County requirements, as follows:
1. Site Adaptation Services
2. Site Adaptation Construction Documents
3. Permitting Services
4. Bidding Services
5. Construction Administration Services
6. Post Construction Services
This project is located in District 4.
FUNDING:
Funding is available in account number 1009-034-0661-6210.
APPROVALS:
The Capital Projects Division concurs with this recommendation.
REMARKS:
On March 15, 2016, the Board approved Architects Design Group to provide design services for fire station prototypes. The building design is a prototype that has been used in many projects. While another firm could replicate the new design, the associated cost and time would be substantial. In addition, using the prototype designer will minimize the impact to the design deliverable schedule.
Price reasonableness has been established by confirming that all billable rates, multipliers, terms, and conditions are consistent with the aforementioned design contract.
