PROCUREMENT:

The project includes the renovation, conversion, or addition of 28 isolation cells in the Booking and Release Center Building, Female Detention Center, and Building E. These renovations to these newly designed isolation cells will provide additional security and safety measures for the benefit and protection of the occupants of these buildings.  The design of the air conditioning system will provide for negative airflow to aid in the prevention of the spread of infectious diseases. The work also includes updates to the electrical feeders, disconnect switches, and other electrical components to power the new air conditioning equipment. The renovations will also connect the new mechanical equipment to the existing building automation system.  Additive 1 includes four cells on level 1 and eight cells on level 6 in Building E for a total of 12 additional cells.  Additive 2 includes two cells on level 1 in the Female Detention Center for a total of two additional cells.  This project is located in District 6.

FUNDING:

Funding is available in account numbers 1023-081-3839-6210 and 5896-019-3839-6210.  This project includes $3.5M of American Rescue Plan Act Funding.
