PROCUREMENT:
This amendment authorizes Architectural and Engineering Design Services and Construction Administration Services to include the renovation of the Destination Lounge located in the North-South Building of the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) as part of the food service renovations project.
The current Destination Lounge is primarily utilized for small-scale events with limited food service offerings. The proposed renovation will transform this area into a food service marketplace, expanding food and beverage options available to OCCC clients and guests in the North-South Building. This initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to enhance guest experience and operational efficiency that would incorporate design direction already provided for the existing marketplace concepts developed under the North-South Food Service renovations project.
This amendment will add 161 days (23 weeks) to complete the design phase of the proposed amendment and prepare permit documents. This amendment will also update the subcontractor schedule with no change to award amount. This project is located in District 6.
FUNDING:
Funding is available in account number 4430-035-0965-24-6210.
APPROVALS:
The Capital Planning Division concurs with this recommendation.
REMARKS:
On March 5, 2024, the Board approved the selection of Helman Hurley Charvat Peacock/Architects, Inc. to provide Design Services for the Orange County Convention Center North-South Building Food Service Renovations in the total contract award amount of $1,759,582.59. The contract was executed on September 23, 2024.
Previous change order is as follows:
Change Order No. 1: Issued for encumbrance $1,265,554.85. There was no change to award amount.
