PROJECT:

PURPOSE:
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise (“Department”), and Orange County (“County”) wish to enter into a Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).

The Department’s adopted Work Program includes the following two projects:

Project 1 (Financial Project Number (FPN): 406090-5) generally includes, but is not limited to, widening SR 528; bridge and ramp widenings; traffic control plans; mechanically stabilized earth walls and retaining walls; guardrail and barrier installations; cross-drain replacements and extensions; drainage pipes and structures; stormwater management facilities; sidewalks; fencing; signage; roadway lighting; intelligent transportation system (ITS) adjustments; temporary works; utility adjustments; and earthwork. This Agreement defines the County’s responsibilities related to improvements constructed by FDOT on International Drive and Universal/Orangewood Boulevard. 

Project 2 (FPN 449465-1) generally includes, but is not limited to, the widening of the eastbound exit ramp from SR 528 to CR 423 (John Young Parkway); construction of operational and safety improvements for southbound CR 423 to Taft Vineland Road; merge lanes; turn lanes; ramp widenings; traffic control plans; guardrails and barriers; drainage and stormwater management improvements; signage; roadway lighting; ITS adjustments; traffic signals; temporary works; utility adjustments; and earthwork. 
A separate agreement is being submitted for this project.  

This maintenance MOA with the Department has been reviewed and approved by the County Attorney’s Office and the Risk Management Division as to form.
