([Public Works Department Engineering Division] Procurement Division).

PROCUREMENT:
The project involves improving eastbound Corporate Boulevard by widening it to add a turn lane. The project spans approximately 780 feet of the eastbound Corporate Boulevard approach and includes all four quadrants of the Corporate Boulevard and Alafaya Trail intersection, with a total project length of 962 linear feet (0.182 miles).
The project includes but is not limited to the following improvements:
• Roadway construction and widening
• Construction of curb and gutter
• Sidewalk and curb ramp construction
• Milling and resurfacing
• Removal and replacement of existing inlets
• Placement of new inlets and storm pipes
• Removal of existing strain poles
• Installation of new mast arms and signal improvements
• Placement of signage and pavement markings
The project is located in District 5.
FUNDING:
Funding is available in account numbers 7538-072-7374-6311 and 1003-072-2722-6311. This project is federally funded through the Florida Department of Transportation Local Agency Program.
APPROVALS:
The Public Works Engineering Division concurs with this recommendation.
REMARKS:
Three bids were received in response to this Invitation for Bids and evaluated for responsiveness, responsibility, and price reasonableness. W.T. Comp, Inc. was deemed non-responsive for altering the bid item schedule. Garcia Civil Contractors LLC’s bid was withdrawn as they declined to extend their bid price beyond the irrevocable offer period. The bid submitted by Gibbs & Register, Inc. is considered reasonable based on comparison to the engineer’s estimate. References provided were satisfactory for this type of work and Gibbs & Register, Inc. has been determined to be responsible. Therefore, award is recommended to Gibbs & Register, Inc.
