SUBJECT: Amendment No. 3, Contract Y22-815, Construction, Engineering and Inspection Services for Shingle Creek Trail Phase 3
ACTION REQUESTED:
title
Approval of Amendment No. 3, Contract Y22-815, Construction, Engineering and Inspection Services for Shingle Creek Trail Phase 3, with CDM Smith, Inc., in the amount of $171,253.32, for a revised total contract amount of $732,867.06. ([Public Works Department Highway Construction Division] Procurement Division)
body
PROCUREMENT:
This amendment adds funding for hours needed to project engineer, administrator, senior inspector, and resident compliance specialist as the construction project is a Federally funded Local Agency Program (LAP) which requires that construction engineering and inspection services be provided by an FDOT approved consultant, rather than County staff in order to receive federal reimbursements for the construction costs. This additional construction time requires CDM Smith, Inc. to provide staff for a longer duration than anticipated and additional services for claims analysis were added. The construction contract is currently scheduled to run through May 27, 2025 and the services will be needed for up to an additional 120 days after construction completion for closeout services.
FUNDING:
Funding is available in account number 1265-062-2119-6310.
APPROVALS:
The Public Works Highway Construction Division concurs with this recommendation.
REMARKS:
On September 13, 2022, the Board approved the selection of CDM Smith, Inc. Contract Y22-815, was executed in the total amount of $535,154.60, which encompasses Construction Engineering and Inspection and Compliance Support services for the Shingle Creek Trail Phase 3 (Orange County Line to Town Loop Boulevard) construction project.
