Approval of Amendment No. 5, Contract Y20-134A, Elevators and Escalators Maintenance Service, with Kone Inc., in the amount of $275,911.20, for a revised estimated contract amount of $2,723,707.20. ([Administrative Services Department Facilities Management Division] Procurement Division)

PROCUREMENT:
This amendment will extend the contract for the period of November 1, 2025 through April 30, 2026, and add funding at the current contracted rates for the period of extension. This extension will allow time to resolicit and support a smooth transition to the new contract while maintaining the elevators and escalators. The resolicitation draft is in development to include modernization plans from Capital Projects which require additional coordination to complete the scope of services. Procurement projects that the resolicitation will be issued in August, 2025.
FUNDING:
Funding is available in account numbers 0001-043-1713-3810, 0001-043-1717-3810, 0001-043-1718-3810, and 0001-043-1719-3810.
APPROVALS:
The Facilities Management Division concurs with this recommendation.
REMARKS:
On September 22, 2020, the Board authorized award of Contract Y20-134A, to Kone Inc., in the amount of $2,346,450 for Lot A, for a three-year term, renewable for two additional one-year terms.
Previous contract amendments are as follows:
Amendment No. 1: Added the West District-CARES/EMS Building for monthly services. This amendment increased the contract by $3,600, for a revised estimated contract amount of $2,350,050.
Amendment No.2: Added the Hydraulic Elevator-Utilities Division McLeod Transfer Station. This amendment increased the contract by $3,600, for a revised estimated contract amount of $2,353,650.
Amendment No. 3: Renewed the contract for the period of November 1, 2023 through October 31, 2024, with a CPI increase of 4%. This amendment increased the contract by $94,146, for a revised estimated contact amount of $2,447,796.
Amendment No. 4: Renewed the contract for the period of November 1, 2024 through October 31, 2025. The contract amount remained unchanged.
