PROJECT:
N/A

PURPOSE:
The Public Works Department, in partnership with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), is advancing the Shingle Creek Trail Phase 1, Segment 3 project into the construction phase. The project will construct approximately 0.931 miles of multi-use trail, generally up to 14 feet wide from West Taft Vineland Road to State Road 528. Construction of the trail includes approximately 2,598 linear feet of boardwalk, 1,875 linear feet of asphalt trail, and 175 linear feet of concrete trail, along with concrete ribbon curb, 42-inch pedestrian/bicycle picket railing, Type B fencing, signing, plastic erosion mat, and performance turf (sod) installation. Site preparation includes erosion control, clearing and grubbing, guardrail and tree removal, excavation, and embankment. All pedestrian facilities will comply with current ADA standards, and the project will be constructed within existing right-of-way and trail easements.

This project is funded in accordance with the Local Agency Program Agreement between Orange County and the FDOT. Under Supplemental Agreement No. 1, the federal funding for construction is increased from $4,599,147 to $8,905,720, an increase of $4,306,573, to match the construction contract award. The Construction Engineering  and Inspection (CEI) funding was also increased from $665,522 to $805,520, an increase of $139,998, to match the CEI contract award. As a result, the total project funding increased from $5,264,669 to $9,711,240, with the revised funding consisting entirely of federal funds. No local funds were required.

The County Attorney’s Office, Risk Management Division, Public Works Engineering Division, and Transportation Planning Division have reviewed this Resolution and Supplemental Agreement and find them acceptable.
