The Clerk of the Board is responsible for keeping accurate minutes and maintaining Board records for each Board of County Commissioner (BCC) and Value Adjustment Board (VAB) meeting. In addition, every 4 years, the Clerk of the Board office provides staff support to the Charter Review Commission (CRC) appointed by the BCC. Please contact our office if you need an accessible version of documents on this page, and one will be provided.

PROJECT: N/A

 

PURPOSE: The County desires to provide youth and children programs on the westside of Orange County, specifically in East Winter Garden. As such, the County and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Florida (BGCCF) are currently parties to Contract Y21-143 which allows the organization to utilize the West Orange Recreation Center in Winter Garden, Florida to provide youth program services.

 

The BGCCF has collaborated with the City of Winter Garden to construct a new building on a portion of property owned by the city located at 459 9th Street, Winter Garden 34787 (parcel# 12-22-27-6496-14-003).   Once the site is constructed, the BGCCF would like to move its operation from the recreation center to the new facility.   The project consists of constructing a 20,000 sq. ft. building and associated parking and infrastructure improvements.

 

Staff is recommending a funding agreement that authorizes the County to contribute to the project construction revenue in the amount of $440,000 to be issued within 45 days of the issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy for the project.   The agreement also authorizes BGCCF to continue operating at the recreation center until the new site is constructed.

 

Staff have reviewed and is recommending approval of the funding agreement with BGCCF to provide $440,000 for the facility construction costs. In addition, the County will allow the organization to continue operations at the West Orange Recreation Center until occupancy at the new facility.
