PROCUREMENT:
The contract will support programming to provide early intervention services to connect people with HIV who were recently diagnosed or who are out of care, to additional care and support services. The performance period is March 1, 2025 through February 28, 2026.
FUNDING:
Funding is available in account number 7040-060-7302-8610. Funding is being provided from the Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) Grant awarded by the U.S. Health Resource and Service Administration (HRSA).
APPROVALS:
The Health Services Department concurs with this recommendation.
REMARKS:
The EHE grant provides medical and support services to people with HIV. The County administers the program under guidelines from HRSA and is designated as the grantee for the funding. It is estimated that an approximate 500 people with HIV will receive services under this contract each grant year.
On November 1, 2024, Orange County Health Services solicited for EHE Early Intervention Services. Four proposals were received in response to the Request for Proposals (RFP) and were evaluated in accordance with criteria contained in the RFP. The proposals were evaluated by a panel, on November 1, 2024, as part of the Health Services Department’s Zoom Grants Application System, which consisted of a select group of appointed individuals. The agency with the highest ranked score was recommended for funding for Early Intervention Services.
