Approval to award Invitation for Bids Y25-795-GO, Corrections Recreation Yard Concrete and Perimeter Fencing Project to the low responsive and responsible bidder, Dorothy Builds, LLC, in the total contract award amount of $658,000. PROCUREMENT:
Work under this contract consists of the repair and replacement of concrete surfaces within four recreation yards to address potential trip hazards and ensure a safe environment. Work also includes the demolition and reconstruction of these recreation yards as needed. Additionally, repairs to the perimeter interior security fencing will be performed to address potential security concerns. The scope further includes paving over the green area surrounding the Horizon building and installing underground conduit to support future installation of light poles. The project is located in District 6.
FUNDING:
Funding is available in account number 1023-081-4026-3810.
APPROVALS:
The Capital Projects Division concurs with this recommendation.
REMARKS:
Six bids were received in response to the Invitation for Bids (IFB) and evaluated for responsiveness, responsibility, and price reasonableness. The bid submitted by Brightway Roofing and Contracting was deemed non-responsive for failure to acknowledge Addenda 6 through 13, and failure to submit notarized documents are prescribed in the IFB.
The bid submitted by Dorothy Builds, LLC is considered reasonable based on the engineer’s estimate. References provided were satisfactory for this type of work and Dorothy Builds, LLC has been determined to be responsible. Therefore, award is recommended to Dorothy Builds, LLC.
