PROJECT:
N/A

PURPOSE:
Change Order No. 2 to Contract No. Y25-736 is required for the Holden Estates/Forrestal Avenue Drainage Improvements Project. This change order in the amount of $152,040.14 increases the original contract amount from $1,835,120.46 to $1,987,160.60, an increase of 8.29%.

The current change order is required for additional work and materials due to changes in design that were needed to lower the jack and bore pit and drainage structures to resolve unforeseen utility conflicts. During the excavation of the jack and bore entrance pit on Kelsey Road the contractor reported a conflict with a 2.5” OUC steel water line. In addition, a Lumen Technologies cable was found in the Central Florida Railroad right of way, approximately 10’-12’ under the railroad tracks and in the jack and bore path.

The engineer of record for this project provided revised plans to accommodate the needed changes to avoid these obstacles and prevent damage to the existing utilities. The change order was developed based on contract unit prices and market pricing negotiation.
