Approval of Amendment No. 1, Contract Y24-2039, Provision of Community Services and Facility Use, with Central Florida Regional Workforce Development Board, Inc. dba Career Source Central Florida, in the amount of $800,000, for a revised total contract amount of $2,200,000. PROCUREMENT:
This amendment will provide additional funds for vocational opportunities for youth, resulting in an additional 50,000 hours of direct services and an estimated 420 Orange County youth served. The additional funding will be sourced from Children's Services Rollover Funding and must be utilized by the conclusion of the current contract year ending December 31, 2025.
APPROVALS:
The Citizens' Commission for Children Division concurs with this recommendation.
REMARKS:
On March 26, 2024, the Board approved award of Contract Y24-2039 to Central Florida Regional Workforce Development Board, Inc. dba Career Source Central Florida, in the total contract award amount of $1,400,000 for a three-year term.
Programming will assist Orange County youth, ages 16-19, in making strategic career choices by exposing them to career experiences through student internships. Through immersive employment experiences and career training, programming will expose students to careers that align with their interests while also building valuable professional skills, including communication, self-advocacy and the ability to effectively work with others in a professional setting.
