Approval and execution for the Orange County Sheriff's Office to spend $65,500 from the FY 2025 Law Enforcement Trust Fund-State Forfeitures for eligible contributions to Harbor House of Central Florida ($10,000), Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranches, Inc ($25,000), Hispanic Heritage Scholarship Fund ($5,500), and The Florida Sheriff's Association Youth Learning Center ($25,000). Harbor House of Central Florida - $10,000. This organization is committed to providing comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence and to providing domestic violence education to Central Florida communities. The 2025 Signature Purple Door Luncheon Honoring Champions of Courage will be held on October 8, 2025, at Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Florida.
Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranches - $25,000. This contribution is for the Legacy Project, which consists of raising funds to support the Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranches in its mission to support juvenile delinquency prevention through early intervention and other family-centered services. The ranch's residential campuses, summer camp activities, and outreach programs all include components addressing the dangers of drugs and alcohol, cultural diversity, and conflict resolution.
Hispanic Heritage Scholarship Fund - $5,500. This fund is dedicated to investing in the college education of Hispanic/Latino students in Central Florida. Their scholarships, student workshops and events are designed to help students earn their bachelor's degrees, develop critical life skills, and connect to the local community.
