PURPOSE:  We are requesting approval of an employment agreement with Alan Vorst, M.D. as the Physician II, Health Services at Corrections Health Services.  Dr. Vorst has over 14 years of experience as a physician. A summary of the representative duties of the position is shown below:

                     Performs medical assessments, evaluations, and treatments to the inmates at the Orange County Jail.
                     Conducts daily sick call and chronic care clinics.
                     Orders, reviews, and responds to all lab work and testing.
                     Assists the Manager and Medical Director in evaluation of Correctional Health Services employee productivity and effectiveness in meeting established job requirements.
                     Assists in the division's effort to ensure that all aspects of the health delivery system are consistent with ACA, NCCHC, FMJS and other applicable standards.
                     Provides, when requested, educational and informational in-services to Correctional and Correctional Health Services Staff. 

Dr. Vorst is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine.  He completed his surgery residency training through St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI.  He is currently a Medical Director for Polk South County Jail. Dr. Vorst is an exceptional candidate for the position and is well deserving of the annual salary of $265,012.80.
