PURPOSE:
The Traffic Engineering Division requests approval and execution of a Federally Funded Agreement between the United States Department of Transportation and Orange County to conduct supplemental planning activities to expand safety data to support reducing the most severe crash types and conditions. The supplemental planning activities will include utilizing Automated Traffic Signal Performance Measures data to develop real-time safety indicators and to evaluate intersections as part of the SS4A Program.   

The total estimated cost for this project is $1,067,154.75.  The federal funding is $853,723 and requires county funding in the amount of $213,431.75.   

The County Attorney’s Office and the Public Works Traffic Engineering Division have reviewed the Grant Agreement and found it acceptable.
