PROJECT: N/A
PURPOSE: Florida Commerce has issued notice to the Orange County Community and Family Services Department and the Community Action Division that additional Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) funding has been allocated to Orange County for the 2024 - 2025 State Fiscal Year. Funds are designated for use in addressing unmet needs for low-income residents associated with Hurricane Ian. The Community Action Division has complied with all CSBG and Florida Commerce requirements related to the disbursement of these additional funds under the current funding contract. Funds will be directed toward those areas of the County that were most impacted by Hurricane Ian and that meet CSBG community eligibility criteria based on median income. Funds will be used to support basic needs and housing in these areas. Spending authority with respect to these funds begins immediately and extends through September 2026. The Community Action Board has considered and voted in favor of this use of funds.
