PROJECT: N/A
PURPOSE: The Code Enforcement Board (CEB) is composed of seven members. The enabling legislation for the CEB stipulates that "the members shall be appointed on the basis of experience or interest in the fields of zoning and building control and shall, whenever possible, include: 1) an architect; 2) a businessman; 3) an engineer/surveyor; 4) a general contractor; 5) a subcontractor; and 6) a licensed real estate broker or licensed real estate salesman." In addition, the Board enacted legislation in 1993 concerning the makeup of the CEB that further provided that "subject to the preceding requirements for inclusion of certain professional specialties on the code enforcement board, each district of the county shall be represented by at least one member." Terms are for three years, and the CEB does not have term limits.
The terms of two members of the CEB, Maurice L. Pearson and Kelly A. Dawson, expired on December 31, 2024. Mr. Pearson did not wish to serve another term, and, therefore, shall need to be replaced. He was serving in the business person category. Ms. Dawson serves in the architect category and would like to continue serving on the CEB.
The following nomination has been received by the Agenda Development Office:
Commissioner Moore: Kelly A. Dawson
