PROJECT: Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando and Osceola County, Inc. Roof Replacement Program
PURPOSE: On March 24, 2020, the Board adopted Ordinance 2020-09 establishing the Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF) for the purpose of providing the financial resources and the leverage necessary to create and preserve affordable housing units in Orange County. The AHTF Plan was approved September 13, 2022 and allows for the selection of projects through a competitive Request for Application (RFA). Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando and Osceola County, Inc. submitted a proposal requesting monetary assistance for the Project during Orange County’s FY 2024-2025 RFA for Housing Projects for Community Development Block Grant funding. The Housing and Community Development Division recommended the Project for $1,566,787.73 and identified the AHTF as a funding source for the Project. The Project will consist of a roof replacement program for approximately 80 owner-occupied single-family homes in Orange County for very-low or low-income persons or households. The Project is located at multiple locations throughout the County. The agreement outlines the project requirements, to include scope of project, projected budget, and reporting and income requirements.
