PROCUREMENT:
This purchase order procures two new small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) designed for payload dropping aimed at restoring the operational capabilities of prior programs before the amendments to Florida Law concerning sUAS and drone safety and security. The newly acquired systems adhere to the recently revised Florida State Law on sUAS safety and security. These systems will serve as replacements for older aircraft that were not in compliance with the updated state regulations.
FUNDING:
Funding is available in account numbers 1009-034-0690-6410, 1009-034-0690-4115, and 1009-034-0690-4123.
APPROVALS:
The Fire Rescue Department concurs with this recommendation.
REMARKS:
The purchase of two new payload dropping sUAS drones aims to match the previous program capabilities before the change in Florida Law regarding sUAS/Drone Safety and Security. These systems comply with the recently updated Florida State Law regarding sUAS safety and security and are replacing older aircraft that did not comply with the new state law.
A Request for Quotations was issued, resulting in three quote responses. The quote tabulation is as follows:
