PROJECT: Resolution of the Orange County Board of County Commissioners Superseding Resolution No. 2024-M-11 regarding the adoption of the Amended Local Housing Assistance Plan
PURPOSE: On April 23, 2024 the Board approved the Local Housing Assistance Plan for Fiscal Years 2024-2025, 2025-2026, and 2026-2027. The Local Housing Assistance Plan describes how State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) funds will be used. Recent changes to Florida law require local governments participating in the SHIP program to address certain manufactured housing needs within their Local Housing Assistance Plan.
To comply with these statutory requirements, Orange County is submitting a Resolution to supersede Resolution No. 2024-M-11 regarding the Adoption of the Amended Local Housing Assistance Plan. The Plan will establish a manufactured housing assistance strategy. The proposed new manufactured housing strategy is intended to provide assistance to eligible households experiencing manufactured housing-related hardships including lot rental assistance, and relocation assistance for manufactured homeowners and tenants displaced due to the closure of a mobile home park.
