PROJECT:
The Fire Rescue Department is requesting approval of the Resolution of the Orange County Board of County Commissioners regarding the Adoption of a Form Facility Use Agreement for the County’s Fire Training Facility and Signature Authorization for the County’s Fire Chief.

PURPOSE: The County owns certain real property located at 11308 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, Florida, 32828 on which the County operates a “Fire Training Facility” that can be used to provide training and educational opportunities for firefighters, students, and trainees.  With some frequency that is expected to continue, the County has allowed governmental entities and other organizations to use the Facility to provide hands-on fire mitigation training and education, which the County has determined is in the interest of public health, safety, and welfare.  The Board’s adoption of a form facility use agreement and delegation of authority for the Orange County Fire Rescue Department Director to sign said agreement would greatly benefit the Department by streamlining the current process for granting governmental entities, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and other organizations approved by the Department, a license to use the facility for fire training purposes.
