PROJECT: Street Name Petition from North Orion Boulevard to Ken Dixon Way Permit #: Z25000220
PURPOSE: On November 20, 2024, the Zoning Division received an application for a Street Name Petition from Johnathan Bates, on behalf of the University of Central Florida (UCF) to rename North Orion Boulevard to Ken Dixon Way.
The proposed street name satisfies the requirements of Resolution 2015-M-12 and was approved by 911 Emergency Services on April 24, 2025. All of the property adjacent to North Orion Boulevard is owned by TIITF/EDUC-UCF CAMPUS.
Orange County and Seminole County have a ground lease with UCF for a fire station at the southeast corner of McCullouch Road and North Orion Boulevard that is addressed off North Orion Boulevard. Both Real Estate Management and Fire Rescue has provided comments of no objection to this request.
The Board is authorized to rename streets pursuant to Section 21-2, Orange County Code.
