The Clerk of the Board is responsible for keeping accurate minutes and maintaining Board records for each Board of County Commissioner (BCC) and Value Adjustment Board (VAB) meeting. In addition, every 4 years, the Clerk of the Board office provides staff support to the Charter Review Commission (CRC) appointed by the BCC. PURPOSE: The Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) is composed of nine members, one appointed from each of the county commission districts upon recommendation of the district commissioner, one appointed upon recommendation of the County Mayor, and two at large members nominated by the County Mayor or any County Commissioner and appointed by the full Board. The Board must confirm all appointments. Members of the P&Z are limited to four consecutive terms.
Dr. Evelyn M. Cardenas recently resigned her position on the P&Z. She was serving in the at large representative category. In addition, the term of the other at large representative, Nelson N. Pena, will expire on December 31, 2025, and he does not wish to continue serving, thereby creating two vacancies.
