PROCUREMENT:
This change order extends the lease period for a rental back-up centrifuge at the South Water Reclamation Facility for the period of May 1, 2026 through September 30, 2026 to support facility operations while repairs are made to one of the fixed centrifuges used in biosolids removal and disposal. Disruption to facility operations can result in regulatory fines and pose environmental threat to the community.
FUNDING:
Funding is available in account number 4420-038-1351-3610.
APPROVALS:
The Water Reclamation Division concurs with this request.
REMARKS:
On September 22, 2025, the Procurement Division issued Purchase Order M119086 to Centrifuge Systems, LLC in the not-to-exceed amount of $148,500 with a period of service from October 15, 2025 through January 15, 2026.
Repairs to the fixed centrifuge began February 1, 2026 and are expected to be completed by July 31, 2026. The lease extension is necessary to remain compliant with regulatory standards while repairs are completed. The lease months beyond the anticipated completion of repairs are requested to ensure repaired unit is operating at regulatory standards before the rental unit is removed.
