PROCUREMENT:
Work under this contract includes the replacement of the Central Energy Plant fire pump system with associated piping, valves, controllers, and related incidental work. The project is located in District 6.
FUNDING:
Funding is available in account number 1023-043-0263-3810.
APPROVALS:
The Capital Projects Division concurs with this recommendation.
REMARKS:
One bid was received in response to this Invitation for Bids (IFB) and evaluated for responsiveness, responsibility, and price reasonableness. As Ranger Fire, Inc. was the sole bidder, negotiations were held, resulting in a reduction to the bid in the amount of $407,780. The bid is considered reasonable based on negotiations and current market factors.
To ensure an open and competitive process, the IFB was posted on the County's e-procurement platform. A query of known potential bidders that declined to participate in this bid opportunity resulted in the following findings:
Valencia Construction Group, Inc.: Did not bid due to not being comfortable with the scope of work.
Schuller Contractors Incorporated: Did not bid due to not providing the services requested.
