Approval and execution Dental Services Agreement between Orange County, Florida and Big Smiles Florida, P.A. for the specific purpose of provision of dental services for children enrolled in the County’s Head Start program. There is no cost to the County for participation in this program to the 1,536 children enrolled at the Head Start centers. (Head Start Division)

PURPOSE: The Head Start Division requests Board approval of the no-cost contract with Big Smiles Florida, P.A. Services from Big Smiles Florida, P.A. include dental exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments (including Silver Diamine Fluoride), sealants, x-rays, and referrals for follow-up care. Educational materials and dental report cards will be distributed to families. All services are provided at no cost to the program or families, regardless of insurance status, and align with federal Head Start Performance Standards. Services are scheduled to minimize disruption to the school day and support completion of health screenings within 90 days of enrollment.
