SUBJECT: Award of Invitation for Bids Y24-1083-TF, Sodium Hypochlorite
ACTION REQUESTED:

Approval to award Invitation for Bids Y24-1083-TF, Sodium Hypochlorite, to the low responsive and responsible bidder, Allied Universal Corp., in the estimated contract award amount of $1,714,944 for Lot A for a one-year term, $3,152,226 for Lot B for a one-year term, and $3,133,900 for Lot C for a one-year term. Further request Board authorization for the Procurement Division to renew the contract for four additional one-year terms.
In the event the bidder recommended above fails to achieve timely compliance with pre-award deliverables, as defined in the Invitation for Bids, including, but not limited to M/WBE participation sub-contract agreements, State Division of Corporations registration, E-verify, insurance and bonds, request Board authorization for the Procurement Division to award to the next low responsive and responsible bidder as listed in the bid tabulation herein, to the extent practicable and advantageous to the County. PROCUREMENT:
This contract will provide sodium hypochlorite to disinfect water supplied to utility customers and as a disinfecting agent to meet the water quality standards for reclaimed water.
FUNDING:
Funding is available in account numbers 4420-038-1324-4151, 4420-038-1355-4151, 4420-038-1351-4151, 4420-038-1357-4151, and 4420-038-1360-4151.
APPROVALS:
The Utilities Department and Business Development Division concur with this recommendation.
