Approval of a Multi-way Stop Condition installation at the intersection of Young Pine Road and Canterbury Cove Drive. District 4. (Traffic Engineering Division)

PROJECT: N/A
PURPOSE: Traffic Engineering staff recommends conversion of the existing traffic control of Young Pine Road and Canterbury Cove Drive from a side street stop control to a multi-way stop control intersection.
Citizens expressing safety concerns requested that the Traffic Engineering Division analyze the traffic control at the intersection of Young Pine Road and Canterbury Cove Drive. Traffic Engineering conducted a field assessment to gather traffic movement counts, topography, geometric constraints, sight distance and crash history to determine if the multi-way stop control is warranted.
In support of the results to improve traffic operations and pedestrian safety, Traffic Engineering staff recommends that the existing side street stop control of Canterbury Cove Drive be converted to a multi-way stop control at the intersection of Young Pine Road and Canterbury Cove Drive.
