Confirmation of the Mayor's managerial appointment of Scott Egan as Division Chief, Orange County Fire Rescue Department.

PURPOSE: I am pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Egan as the Division Chief of the Orange County Fire Rescue Department.
Chief Scott Egan has 35 years of experience in the fire service, including 26 years with the Orange County Fire Rescue Department. Since joining the department in 1999, he has held positions as Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, Battalion Chief, Assistant Chief of EMS, and Assistant Chief of Training.
As Assistant Chief of Operations, EMS, Chief Egan led several significant initiatives, including launching Central Florida's first whole-blood program and improving the success rate of standalone paramedics. He has also served as a member of the Special Operations Team and has support experience in the Emergency Operations Center during multiple large-scale events and emergencies. Additionally, he has served as an instructor, teaching firefighter standards, advanced firefighter courses, and firefighter survival techniques.
As a division chief, Chief Egan will oversee the department's Training Division. There, he will ensure the professional development of our certified and non-certified uniform personnel and oversee a comprehensive recruitment program. Chief Egan holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Barry University and is in the early stages of pursuing his master's degree from the University of Central Florida in Public Administration.
