PROJECT: Interagency Agreement between The School Board of Orange County, Florida and Orange County, Florida
PURPOSE: On July 28, 2020, the Board approved an Interagency Agreement with The School Board of Orange County, Florida pursuant to Section 252.38(1)(d), Florida Statutes, in which the parties agreed to cooperate during a declared state or local emergency by providing facilities, supplies, and personnel for emergency evacuation shelters in the interest of public safety. Said agreement expired on November 30, 2024. Orange County, Florida and The Orange County School Board agree to extend the current agreement to the end of the 2026 hurricane season on November 30, 2026, to ensure the continuation of services and to allow time to work through the details of a new five-year agreement. The Office of Emergency Management and The School Board of Orange County will reconvene in February 2026 to review and negotiate a successor agreement.
