PROCUREMENT:
This contract will provide group term life, accidental death, long and short term disability, and dismemberment insurance for the employee benefits plan.
FUNDING:
Funding is available in account number 5540-025-0280-9080.
APPROVALS:
The Human Resources Division and Business Development Division concur with this recommendation.
REMARKS:
Four proposals were received in response to this Request for Proposals (RFP). The Hartford was deemed non-responsive due to exceptions to the Mandatory Features Checklist. Ochs, Inc. was deemed non-responsive for exceptions to the Mandatory Features Checklist and failure to provide rate caps for years four and five. MetLife was deemed non-responsive due to exceptions to Provision 26, Confidential Information, of the General Terms and Conditions. Rates were found to be reasonable through comparison to coverage currently provided in contract Y17-1068.
The Procurement Committee evaluated the proposal in accordance with the criteria established in this RFP. Standard Insurance Company meets all specifications and other requirements of the RFP.
The proposal was evaluated by the Committee on August 13, 2024. Commissioner Nicole Wilson was assigned to the Procurement Committee.
