Approval of Amendment No. 6, Contract Y21-1087, Traffic Calming and Minor Roadway Improvements, with Mercon Construction Company, in the amount of $2,000,000 for a revised estimated contract amount of $7,111,325. ([Public Works Department Traffic Engineering Division] Procurement Division)

PROCUREMENT:
This amendment will add funds for the construction of calming devices, pedestrian safety improvements, and minor roadway improvements. This supports the County's continued efforts to enhance public safety and improve the quality of life for our residents. This funding will support project needs for the remainder of the current contract term. The original contract fee structure will remain unchanged and applicable to this amendment.
FUNDING:
Funding is available in account numbers 1004-072-2729-3816 and 1002-072-2721-3816.
APPROVALS:
The Traffic Engineering Division concurs with this recommendation.
REMARKS:
On December 14, 2021, the Board approved the selection of Mercon Construction Company. Contract Y21-1087 was executed on January 6, 2022 for a not-to-exceed amount of $3,911,325 which encompasses construction services related to the installation of Traffic Calming projects throughout Orange County.
