The Clerk of the Board is responsible for keeping accurate minutes and maintaining Board records for each Board of County Commissioner (BCC) and Value Adjustment Board (VAB) meeting. In addition, every 4 years, the Clerk of the Board office provides staff support to the Charter Review Commission (CRC) appointed by the BCC. PURPOSE: The Second Amendment to the Tourism Promotion Agreement between Orange County and Visit Orlando was approved on May 21, 2024 and provides for two non-elected appointees of the Board to serve on the Visit Orlando Board of Directors. If the Mayor of Orange County does not personally serve on the Board of Directors and does not appoint another elected member of the Board to serve as his designee, then one of the two non-elected representatives may be replaced by the member of the Board from the district which includes the hotels and resort properties with the greatest cumulative assessed value. The two appointees serve two-year terms with a limit of three successive full or partial terms.
Currently, Commissioner Wilson and Dr. Evelyn Cardenas are serving as the Board’s representatives. Commissioner Wilson’s term will expire December 31, 2025. She is eligible for reappointment and is interested in serving another term. The term would expire December 31, 2027.
