Confirmation of the Mayor's managerial appointment of William Farhat as Division Chief, Orange County Fire Rescue Department.

PURPOSE: I am pleased to announce the appointment of William Farhat as the Division Chief of the Orange County Fire Rescue Department.
Chief William Farhat has 37 years of public safety experience, including 13 years at the executive level in fire service, having served as Fire Chief for both the University of Notre Dame Fire Department and the Big Sky Fire Department in Montana. His background also includes experience as an Arson Investigator, Hazardous Materials Technician, and Law Enforcement Officer.
Chief Farhat has been with the Orange County Fire Rescue Department for nearly four years, during which he has served as both the Assistant Fire Marshal and the Fire Marshal. In his current role, he will provide managerial oversight of the Planning and Technical Division, which also includes the Office of the Fire Marshal. The planning division is responsible for informing the fire chief of strategies driven by data analysis and trends. Additionally, it oversees the department's Accreditation and ISO compliance, develops community risk-reduction assessments, and enforces the Florida Fire Prevention Code through the fire marshal's office.
Chief Farhat holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Safety from Siena Heights University and a Master of Science in Threat and Response Management from the University of Chicago.
