PURPOSE: The Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) is an agreement for the temporary housing of persons who are the subject of immigration detainers. Because ICE will no longer be included in the Intergovernmental Agreement with the United States Marshall (USMS), the BOA is being presented for Board approval and County execution. Once executed by the County, the BOA will be sent to ICE for countersignature. Upon ICE countersignature, the BOA will become effective and will satisfy Section 908.106, Florida Statutes, which requires each county correctional facility to enter into an agreement with ICE for temporarily housing persons who are the subject of immigration detainers.
