PROCUREMENT:
As a result of an increase in the unhoused population in Orange County, this amendment will add funds to support the expansion of homelessness prevention and diversion services for residents of Orange County, Florida, and to expand homeless outreach to the more underserved outer regions of the County. It is anticipated that this expansion will serve an additional 120 individuals.
FUNDING:
Funding is available in account number 5896-019-8606-8610. These funds are inclusive of the County's American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 allocation.
APPROVALS:
The Mental Health and Homelessness Division concurs with this recommendation.
REMARKS:
The COVID-19 emergency as well as the current economic stressors has caused a substantial increase in families and individuals losing employment, losing their housing, and suffering from other detrimental impacts including social, emotional, mental, and physical health distress.
